Pilgrimage to St. Peter’s Holy Door
In the context of the Jubilee Year 2025, the community of the Maria Mater Ecclesiae International Seminary participated in an emotional pilgrimage to the Holy Door of the Vatican. This initiative, which is part of the community celebrations, helped to strengthen the faith and pastoral commitment of the future priests.
Carrying the cross of hope, more than a hundred participants, including seminarians, priests and formators, from different countries and with hearts full of fervor, made a pilgrimage along the Via della Consolazione singing and praying the Holy Rosary until they reached St. Peter’s Square and passed through the Holy Door; a symbol of divine mercy and the invitation to a deeper conversion.
Once in St. Peter’s Basilica we were able to participate in the Eucharistic celebration presided over by the rector of the Seminary, Fr. Pierre Salabert, who stressed the importance of living this Jubilee as an opportunity to reflect on the true meaning of Christian hope and to appreciate how great God’s mercy is in each one of us.
This ecclesial event that is celebrated every 25 years allowed us to renew our communitarian spirit by living a moment of deep union and prayer for the health of the Pope while reaffirming our vocational response committed to serve and proclaim the Gospel.
