Episcopal nomination of Bishop Aloysius Fondong

The Holy Father has designated Fr. Aloysius Fondong Bishop of Mamfe in Cameroon. He is currently a member of the community of student priests of Mater Ecclesiae. Bishop Aloysius Fondong Abangalo was born on June 5, 1973 in Limbe, in the Diocese of Buéa.
He studied philosophy and theology at the St. Thomas Aquinas Interdiocesan Major Seminary of Bambui, in Bamenda. He holds a degree in Canon Law from the Université Catholique d’Afrique Centrale UCAC (2011-2014). As a student he also ministered at St. Peter and Paul Parish in Simbock. Since 2019 he has been in Italy pursuing a doctorate in Canon Law at the Pontifical Urbaniana University.
He was ordained a priest on April 20, 2006 for the Diocese of Buéa. Fr. Aloysius was in Rome to conclude his Doctorate in Canon Law at the Pontifical Urbaniana University. Congratulations and count on our prayers in the new mission entrusted from the Holy Father.
